TAMARINDO
Hornsby traveled from Dallas to Central America, were he spent several months working, writing, surfing, and playing. The photo at left shows the guitar his brother David gave to him, on a cliff over a rocky beach where some of the next material to be recorded would develop. After leaving his job in Tamarindo, Michael traveled south to explore the country and the musical ideas that came about during the time spent in the small surf town.

Michael moved to Southern Africa in the fall of 2000, and spent the next two and a half years in Mozambique.
